Sports Challenge: Muju Mountain Climb
The Sports challenge got underway this morning as the Mr World challengers faced the Muju Mountain climb in treacherous conditions. They set off early in the gondola which took them 1522m above sea level.
When they got to the top of the mountain in the cable car they faced a steep climb to the peak with icy rocks and rugged terrain to navigate. The teams showed fantastic work rate to reach the top and even more to get down the slippery slopes.
England said âThat was so slippery but everyone seemed to stay on their feet, and we made it to the top in the endâ.
The hungry contestants came back for lunch before heading out again for the second stage of the Sports with the Paintball and ATV challenge.
Contestants leave Incheon; next stop, Muju!
Today the contestants checked out of the Golden Sky Resort in Incheon, heading for the Muju resort in the North Jeolla Province.
Before they leave they will stop off at Incheon City Hall to say farewell and thank you to the Mayor of Incheon An San Soo for the incredible hospitality they have received throughout their stay.
During their stay in Muju contestants will compete in the Sports and Talent events. Challenges awaiting the men in the mountain resort of Muju include a quad bike dirt race, paintballing and skiing. During the Sports Challenge there will be a team winner and one contestant will be crowned
Mr. World contestants visit the vibrant Korean capital: Seoul!
As the Yellow team were put through their paces down at the beach, the Blue, Red and Black teams took time to learn about other cultures at The National Museum, Seoul. The museum is exhibiting the world famous Inca exhibition and Peru took time to explain some of the artefacts to his competitors. âI really enjoy explaining part of Peruvian history to so many other cultures from around the worldâ he said.
Contestants also viewed historical Korean pieces, including swords, arrows and an ancient gold Buddha. It was explained to the young men that the Korean Buddha is the only Buddha that smiles. New Zealand remarked âI have been to museums all over the world and I find this really interesting. I could spend all day in hereâ. Read more HERE.
Adventure and fun on Koran Beach: Yellow and Red teams face gruelling beach challenge
Contestants put through their paces
from mrworld.tv
This morning as the sun rose over the Korean mountains, the Mr World contestants from the Yellow Team were put to the test by our resident Sergeant Major. They were the first team to face the extreme fitness and stamina tests specially designed to separate the men from the boys.
At the crack of dawn the yellow team headed straight to the beach for the toughest test of their ability yet. After running the length of the 4km beach and back (as a warm up!) they were ordered to alternate between sprints, circuit training, sit ups and star jumps. Japan said âThe guys did well. We were all tired but in good spirits after an intense hour-long workout!â. source: http://www.globalbeauties.com/
First Mr World contestants arrive in Incheon, Korea
Mr World 2010 has got off to a great start as the first contestants begin to arrive in Incheon, Korea for the start of the two week festival to find the worldâs most desirable man.
At Incheon International Airport the first contenders to arrive for the Mr World 2010 title were Montenegro, Germany, Ireland and New Zealand. They were given a warm welcome by locals and officials from the Hankook Ilbo media group.
Germany commented: âI am looking forward to this contest even more now that I am in Korea. I hope to get to know the country while I am here. I have been preparing in Sydney for three months to help improve my English, I came straight to Korea from there!â
Ireland mentioned: âThis is such a great opportunity to find out more about another culture and the way people live. I am looking forward to a great time here.â
The first test of this search for the worldâs most desirable man will soon be upon our contestants, as they prepare for their official welcoming ceremony at the Golden Sky Resort, Incheon. This spectacular banquet and staged event will be the first opportunity for the men to show what it takes to compete for a title as prestigious as Mr World 2010.
In the coming weeks, life-long friendships will be formed as the men work together in team activities to showcase strength, stamina and style.
Montenegro said: âBeing given this chance to represent my country as a role model for young men today is truly amazing. I want to do my country proud, and also make some great friends in the coming weeks.â
New Zealand agreed, as he is keen to get to know the other guys in the competition: âI have been looking forward to this moment since I won the New Zealand title. I have been so busy preparing for this trip and it took me 20 hours to get here but I know that it will be worthwhile as the next three weeks will be the time of my life.â
